Gen-Z x El Cambio is the Latino-led immigration and advocacy arm of Gen-Z for Change, using digital tools and creative strategy to build lasting progressive impact for the Latino community Our team is composed of first- and second-generation immigrants—Latino Gen-Zers who bring lived experience and cultural fluency to the content we create, the policy we shape, and the audiences we serve. We speak the language—both literally and figuratively—of the communities most affected by anti-immigrant rhetoric and legislation.
Across platforms, Gen-Z x El Cambio reaches millions monthly. Sharing bilingual, culturally relevant content that blends pop culture, news, and policy to educate and mobilize our people.
Gen-Z X El Cambio launched FIGHT (PODER), a bilingual toolkit in English and Spanish designed to support immigrants under the Trump administration amidst mass deportations. The toolkit includes resources for crowdfunding immigrant rights organizations, informing immigrants of their rights, getting out the vote for leaders who support progressive immigration policies, holding institutions that target immigrants accountable, and encouraging Latinos and non-Latinos alike to get involved in the “fight” (pun intended).
We produced 44 videos and posts that reached over 3 million views—breaking down the importance of knowing your rights, supporting your community, and holding institutions accountable. We raised $7,000+ for immigrant rights groups and sent over 44,000 job applications demanding institutional accountability to airlines assisting deportation.
In collaboration with Freedom for Immigrants, Gen-Z for Change, and Gen-Z X El Cambio, we created Detention 101 to break down the harmful effects of the U.S. detention system on immigrant communities. The series used current events to educate audiences on President Trump’s agenda of accelerated detention and criminalization. We explained what immigration detention was, how it worked, and how we got here by unpacking decades of anti-immigrant legislation and ICE’s history of abuse. We also highlighted internal resistance and exposed the financial forces behind detention.
As part of this effort, we produced 3 videos and 4 posts that reached over 200,000 views, raising awareness about the realities of the detention system, its abuse, and the urgent need for change.
